Abstract
Computer vision and object detection, as an area of artificial intelligence, has the potential to become a stable tool for non-contact measurement of deformations, allowing for measurement of not only static but also time-dependent tests. It enables the calculation of surface deformation at selected points. One of the options is to utilize the Imfindcircles function based on Circular Hough Transform (CHT). The measurement was performed by capturing the tensile test with a camera, controlled from MATLAB environment. The computation of nonlinear deformation was also carried out using MATLAB software. The flat test specimen manufactured through 3D printing was used for the measurement. This additive manufacturing method is currently increasingly being used for the production of special parts and structural components, mainly in the automotive and aviation industries.
