Abstract


Roller bearings are an integral part of a large number of machines and devices in transportation technology. The influence of the operating temperature is an important factor that can change the dimensions or material properties of the system and its consequence can be damage to a part of the equipment. Stress and thermal analysis using the Finite Element Method (FEM) is one approach to increase the reliability of such devices. This work contains thermo-mechanical analysis solution of tapered roller bearing in FEM program ADINA. Durability of bearing and its dependence on temperature was calculated based on FEM results.
