Abstract

The paper presents a simulation of dynamic phenomena in containers for transporting sensitive cargo. A characteristic feature of these objects is the internal vibration isolation system based on springs made of appropriately shaped stainless steel wire rope. The research includes a comparison of the results of a drop simulation from a certain height conducted in the SolidWorks using the Motion module and LS-Dyna - an advanced program for analyzing rapidly changing phenomena such as collisions or explosions. Comparing both methods will highlight their advantages and disadvantages and determine whether such analyses are a reliable source of data, which could potentially eliminate physical tests of such structures that are generally time-consuming and expensive. The selected type of drop test involves dropping the analyzed object from a specified height and examining the system's response in terms of the overloads transmitted to the transported cargo. Additionally, the impact of the center of gravity position of the transported object on the obtained analysis results was examined. This will make it possible to propose framework guidelines for designing such structures and eliminate potential damages resulting from improper weight distribution.
