Modeling of the aluminum alloy chips densification process
Last modified: 30. 04. 2024
Abstract
The processes of compacting bulk and shreddered materials are widely knownand developed for decades. The main reason for using the densification technique is to obtain the desired geometric form of the densified material, new properties, and volume reduction, which most often improves storage and transport possibilities. The presented article presents the use of the Drucker-Prager-CAP model to model the compaction process of aluminum alloy chips obtained during machining. The procedure for identifying model parameters, its calibration and verification using experimental tests is presented. The calibrated model will be used to determine the design features of the elements of the working assembly used for chip compaction.
