Abstract

This work presents a comprehensive study centered on the kinematic simulation of a ball mill, developed through advanced 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modeling. The aim is to offer a profound understanding of the internal kinematics, elucidating the impact of operational parameters on the grinding mechanism.
Initially, a detailed 3D CAD model of the ball mill was constructed, reflecting precise geometrical and structural characteristics. This model served as the foundation for subsequent kinematic analysis and simulation. The focus was placed on the internal dynamics, including the motion of grinding media and the material being ground, providing valuable insights into the complex interactions within the mill.

Kinematic simulations were executed using computational techniques to model the motion of the ball mill's components. These simulations were instrumental in visualizing the trajectories of grinding media, elucidating the influence of various operational parameters such as rotational speed, media loading, and particle size distribution on the grinding efficiency. The study identified optimal conditions under which the grinding process was maximized, highlighting the importance of specific kinematic parameters in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of milling operations.
