This paper presents an analysis of changes in the design features of a shredder for polymeric plastics according to our own patent. The shredder is characterized by high efficiency due to relatively low rotational speed of the drive shaft with disintegrating elements. The SolidWorks application with simulation overlays was used for comparison purposes. The results of these simulations provide a reason to adopt a more precise range of design features at which shredding performance is improved. Implementation of these changes in the prototype being built will be a consequence of this research.
