Abstract

Plasma technology based on diffuse coplanar surface barrier discharge DCSBD represents novel method of economic, efficient and versatile way of materials treatment. As the example of atmospheric pressure plasma source finds an application in modification of wide surface areas within high speed and enables homogenous in-line plasma treatment. Also, the technique of DCSBD plasma is known for its usage and testing in environmental, bio-medical and industrial areas. Also, it is capable of producing various types of active particles e. g.  electrons, atoms, ions, radicals, photons, etc. in different processing gases. The focus of this paper was aimed at the modification of unvulcanized rubber blend by diffuse coplanar surface barrier discharge in order to improve the rheology and physical mechanical properties. Also, the impact of plasma on structural properties of raw skim blend was studied and the effect of the possible surface crosslinking.
