The article presents two types of systems blocking the wheelchair's backflow during a hill climb. Their task was to block the automatic retraction of the wheelchair after the end of the propulsion phase, performed by the upper limb. The tests checked how the mechatronic system with engines supporting the drive wheels and the mechanical system blockingwheel rotation in one directions affects the kinematics of the wheelchair.
